Most people who know me, know that I have a strong dislike for doing handsewing. It’s not that I can’t do it; it’s more that handsewing makes me fairly cranky. Because handsewing makes me irritable, I can appreciate those who have the mindset and skills to find enjoyment doing said type of work.
With that being said, there is one particular website that I’ve been a fan of for years. Yes, years. I own both books and a couple of the kits. I have no clue if I’ll actually do anything with any of it, but I do know that the designer often comes up with something that just strikes me as being spot on and incredibly funny. (Fair warning: I enjoy snark and sarcasm.)
The latest kit, Rectangular Pendant Kit, made me giggle – on so many levels. I don’t think I paused long enough to take a breath before I was placing my order. I still wasn’t exactly sure if I was going to make it or not, but I wanted the kit – just in case.
It just so happened that last weekend, while I was on a 4-day weekend with my husband, I packed my kit and supplies. I figured if I had the time and the inclination, I’d make one.
Uh, yeah. I had so much fun making the first pattern that I kept right on going into the second and third. I got asked if I’d make one of the designs into the pendant. So, of course I made it. It didn’t take more than an hour to make the second one. It was so easy and fun!! Plus, I was done with the design before I even had time to get all “Grrrrrrr” about what I was doing.
I know I should probably find some way to display these. They’re too cute not to.
I LOVE THEM I would have someone frame them and hangi them on the wall those are too good to not be displaced and my favorite is the one that you did first. Perfect!!!
